The Yakima ShowDown is a load assist roof carrier for kayaks and paddleboards, with cradle arms that swing down the side of the vehicle so the boat is loaded at waist height. A lift assist mechanism then takes on a large share of the weight as the boat is raised onto the roof, which is what makes solo loading of a full size kayak possible.

• Loads at waist height: the extending arms lower the cradles 66 cm below roof bar level and down the side of the car, so the boat never has to be lifted overhead.
• Lift assist mechanism: the assist takes on 30 to 45 percent of the boat's weight depending on its width, turning a two person job into a one person job.
• Eight point support: eight padded contact points spread the load along the hull, and the felt covered cradles flex to match its shape.
• Carries kayaks or boards: the carrier takes one kayak up to 70 cm wide or two paddleboards up to 90 cm wide, with a combined limit of 36,3 kg.
• Folds flat when empty: the arms fold down onto the crossbars between trips to keep drag and noise low.
• SpeedClamp attachment: the clamps fit the crossbars without tools, on bars up to 88 mm wide.
• Straps and tie downs included: heavy duty straps with rubber buckle covers and bow and stern tie downs are supplied in the box.
• Lock ready: the carrier accepts same key lock cores, sold separately, to secure it to the roof bars.
