Description
The Salewa Alp Trainer 2 GORE-TEX® Shoe Women in Black/Onyx is a low cut waterproof hiking shoe with a suede upper and approach shoe precision. The 3F System with steel cables ties the lacing, sole and heel together, so the foot stays locked in place on technical descents rather than sliding forward.
- GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort lining: the membrane keeps water out while staying breathable in warm conditions, which is the version of GORE-TEX® built for active use rather than winter.
- 3F System with steel cables: the system links lacing, sole and heel for ankle hold and flexibility, and it is what gives this shoe its hold on steep ground.
- Climbing Lacing: the lacing runs down towards the toes for a precise forefoot fit on rock and scrambling sections.
- Vibram® Alpine Hiking outsole: the tread has separate climbing, traction and braking zones rather than one uniform pattern.
- 360 degree rubber rand: the full rand protects the upper from scree, rock and repeated toe contact.
- Suede upper: the 1.4 to 1.6 mm suede gives durability and shape retention that a mesh upper cannot.
- Flex Collar: the collar allows ankle movement on descent, so the shoe does not fight the foot going downhill.
- EVA midsole: the midsole cushions long approaches on hard trail without feeling vague underfoot.
- 370 g with an 8 mm drop: a moderate drop and low weight for a fully waterproof leather hiking shoe.
