The Salewa Ortles Wall 38L Backpack in Red Orange is the larger version of Salewa's roll top alpine pack, sized for long alpine days and light overnights. It carries a rope under a magnetic buckle strap, takes ice tools in a protected pocket and mounts skis diagonally or in parallel, all in recycled Regen Robic ripstop.

• 38 litres for long days: the extra six litres over the 32 covers a bivi kit, a rack and a rope rather than just a day route.
• Roll top with side and front access: the roll top seals against weather while the side zip and front compartment give access without emptying the pack.
• Magnetic buckle rope strap: the top rope strap is operable with gloves on, which matters when you are racking up in the cold.
• Ice axe fixation with protection pocket: the tool attachment includes a pocket that covers the picks, protecting both the pack and whoever is behind you.
• Diagonal and parallel ski carry: detachable straps handle diagonal Ski-Fix carry, with parallel carry also supported.
• Removable stabilisation board and hipbelt padding: both come out so the pack can be stripped for the climbing pitches.
• Dry Back Contact system: the EVA back panel with 3D channels holds the load close for balance on technical ground.
• Torso adjustment 45 to 53 cm: the back length adjusts to fit rather than assuming an average frame.
• Recycled Regen Robic nylon: 420D and 210D ripstop, 100 percent recycled and substantially more tear resistant than standard pack fabric.
• 38 litres at 1155 g: 64 by 27 by 29 cm, with water repellent zips, an internal valuables pocket and hydration compatibility.
