The Salewa Alp Trainer 2 Mid GORE-TEX® is a suede hiking boot with a Vibram® Alpine Hiking sole, weighing 552 grams per shoe. The name Alp Trainer is old in Salewa's range and this is the second generation: a boot for real mountain walking rather than for a forest path.

• GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane: waterproof and breathable, in the uninsulated version for three season use.
• Vibram® Alpine Hiking outsole: a Salewa exclusive tread with separate climbing, traction and braking zones.
• 3F System with steel cables: Salewa's system connecting sole, instep and ankle, which holds the heel down on descents without locking the ankle.
• Flex Collar: a cut away rear cuff that lets the ankle move backwards on steep descents.
• Multi Fit Footbed Plus: interchangeable volume layers, so the fit can be adjusted to the foot.
