Nikwax Nubuck and Suede Proof is a spray on waterproofer for nubuck and suede footwear only. It adds durable water repellency and keeps the nap of the material rather than sealing it into a shine, and it is not for smooth leather, combination boots or garments.

• Nubuck and suede only: smooth leather needs Waterproofing Wax and fabric leather combinations need Fabric and Leather Proof, so material matters here.
• A proofer, not a cleaner: it is step two, applied after Footwear Cleaning Gel.
• Applied to clean wet boots: spray from about 15 cm, wait two minutes, wipe off the surplus and air dry.
• Keeps the nap: the treatment maintains the texture and flexibility of the material instead of matting it down.
• Maintains breathability: the flexible treatment coats individual fibres, so water vapour still passes through.
• Test a hidden area first: light nubuck and suede may darken after treatment.
