Description
The Salewa Alp Trainer 2 Mid GORE-TEX® Women's Shoe in Duck Green/Rhododendron is a suede mid cut boot at 482 g per shoe, and it is the one in the Alp Trainer family with an adjustable interior. The MFF+ footbed comes apart into layers you can remove, which means the volume of the boot can be tuned to the foot rather than filled with a thicker sock.
- MFF+ Multi Fit Footbed Plus: two interchangeable layers that let you reduce the volume at the heel alone or at the heel and forefoot together.
- Suede upper 1.4 to 1.6 mm: real suede rather than mesh, which is why the boot weighs what it does and why it will outlast a knitted upper.
- GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort: the more breathable of the GORE-TEX® variants, built for active use rather than for winter standing around.
- 3F System with steel cables: Salewa name steel cables on this boot, not Kevlar, linking the lacing to the sole and heel for ankle hold.
- Vibram® Alpine Hiking outsole: a Salewa exclusive version with separate climbing, traction and braking zones rather than one uniform tread.
- Flex Collar: the collar is cut to let the ankle move forward on descents, which a stiff mid cut normally resists.
- Front rubber rand: protection at the toe against rock and scree.
- Climbing lacing: lacing that runs down to the toe, so the forefoot can be tightened independently.
- Women's specific last: standard width, EU 35 to 43, with an 8 mm drop by Salewa's own figure.
- GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane
- Women’s specific last
