The Salewa Junior Wildfire is a kids' approach shoe, which is a different thing from a hiking shoe: it is built for scrambling, with a sole that grips rock and a cage over the upper to stop the foot rolling on uneven ground.

• Michelin JR Ultra Train outsole: Outdoor Compound rubber for grip on rock as well as trail.
• EXA Shell 3D cage: an over injected cage across the upper that resists torsion, which is what a foot needs on broken ground.
• 3F System: Salewa's cable system linking sole, instep and ankle, giving heel hold without stiffening the whole shoe.
• Quick lacing system: a one pull closure a child can manage alone.
• 250 g per shoe at EU 32
• OrthoLite footbed and a breathable mesh lining
• EU 26 to 35, no membrane: a summer shoe, so it breathes rather than keeping water out.
• Fluo Green with Blue Danube colourway
