Nikwax BaseWash is a deodorising cleaner and conditioner for synthetic technical base layers and next to skin wicking clothing. It removes odour build up rather than masking it and restores the fabric's moisture spreading so it dries faster. For merino, use Wool Wash instead.

• For synthetics, not wool: synthetic base layers, sports socks and activewear. Nikwax specify Wool Wash for merino.
• Removes odour rather than perfuming it: it outperforms ordinary detergent on the odour that builds into synthetic fabric.
• Enhances wicking: treated fabric spreads moisture again and dries faster.
• Wash in: 50 ml into the machine dispenser, or 25 ml in 7.5 litres by hand, giving around six machine loads per bottle.
• Water based and biodegradable: supplied in a recycled plastic bottle and free of PFC chemistry.
• Not for waterproof clothing: and no fabric softener alongside it.
