The Yakima SkyPeak HD is Yakima's first hardshell rooftop tent, a clamshell wedge design for two people that opens in seconds and packs down to just 16,5 cm on the roof. A 171 cm peak height, three sided access and integrated dimmable lighting put it at the top of the Yakima tent range.

• Hardshell clamshell design: the rigid lid opens and closes in seconds with strut assistance, a different proposition from folding and strapping a softshell tent every morning.
• 16,5 cm closed profile: the slim closed height cuts drag and garage clearance problems compared with the 42 cm of a folding softshell.
• 171 cm peak height: the tallest interior in the range, high enough to sit up properly and get changed rather than crouch.
• Doors on three sides: three access points with three ladder mounting positions let you choose the approach that suits the pitch, the weather and your privacy.
• Integrated dimmable lighting: USB powered interior lights in white and amber are built in, so there is no lantern to hang or knock over.
• Carries gear on the tent: integrated T slots on each side take up to 34 kg per side, and the optional crossbar kit carries loads on the lid itself.
• Power and solar ready: two zippered pass throughs plus a floor port for solar cables cover climate control and charging.
• Memory foam mattress and anti condensation mat: the 207 by 140 cm mattress has a removable cover and sits on a mat that keeps air moving underneath.
• Lockable lid and clamps: the low profile clamps and the lid latching both take same key lock cores.
• Mounting requirements: the tent weighs 82 kg, needs a crossbar spread of 76 to 173 cm and a rack rated to at least 84 kg, and it must be fitted to Yakima crossbars, since factory bars are not approved for it.
